A Few Words About My Latest Project

For those of you who may not know, I am raising development funds for a narrative feature film, "The Miracle Man," based on the true and incredibly uplifting story of Morris E. Goodman.

Morris Goodman was a successful insurance salesman. So successful, he bought himself his own airplane. On March 10, 1981, his during first solo flight in his new craft, the engine stopped, and he crashed the plane, crushing his spine, leaving him unable to walk, talk, swallow, breathe or move any part of his body except for his eyes. His doctors believed he would live a short, meaningless life, if he survived at all.

Morris had different plans...

What Morris had was his mind, and his faith that one day he would walk out on his own two feet, and make a full recovery, no matter what his doctors told him. Using the same step-by-step, goal-oriented approach he took in his career, Morris began to calculate the steps he needed to make toward recovery. He set a goal to be home by Christmas of that same year. He succeeded before Thanksgiving, just eight months after the accident...

If you have ever seen "The Secret," you'll know his amazing story. If you haven't, you can see a clip of Morris telling his story in it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfKn92klPeU

You can also view clips from a short film that was made in the 1980's and learn more about Morris on his own site at http://themiracleman.org

I have interviewed Morris E. Goodman and have the rights to his story for a motion picture. I need development funds for legal fees, casting fees, professional script consultants, budget analyses, festival and contest submissions, travel expenses and more.

I firmly believe this film will not only entertain, but also encourage people to evaluate their own lives and take the steps they need to take to achieve their goals. After all, this is exactly what Morris' story has done for me.

Won't you help bring this uplifting tale to the big screen and inspire millions worldwide? Please visit http://tinyurl.com/miraclemanfund to contribute.

Join us on Facebook at http://facebook.com/miraclemanfilm

Thank you so much for your involvement!!!

Sincerely,
Brian Jude

BJS045: Back to the Frajer

Last week was the 25th anniversary of the date in which Marty McFly (well, the dog Einstein, actually) became the first time traveler in "Back to the Future." Melanie & I saw the remastered film in the theatre, and it still stands up after all these years. Makes me think about how our own realities can be shifted by simply putting your mind to it. A true example of that is my friend Jen Ponton, a most talented actress whose recent cameo/debut on NBC's "30 Rock" just aired, including a scene that is destined to be one of the series' most memorable moments.

Jacob's First Day of Kindergarten

After five and a half years, this monumental step has finally arrived! And how anti-climactic it was...

We walked over with our neighbors from across the hall - Jacob's friend Manny, his mother Annette & son Vincente. We got to the school, went where everyone was assembled in the playground area, found the sign for his class, barely met the teacher, who asked for his name and said, "Ok, let's go." A quick hug and he was gone! And that was it! And it's not like we were late or anything, they just went! Didn't get to meet the teacher, see his class, ask questions, nothing. Not what we were expecting...

BJS033: BD

I was going to call this episode "Between Doors," as several "doors" in my life have recently closed, and I'm awaiting some new ones to open. However, the day ended up being a "Beach Day," which was another appropriate title! So "BD" it is! My son Jacob & I went to the city of my birth, Long Branch, New Jersey, where my mother Nancy lives, and the three of us went to the beach. We also went to my other hometown, Howell, New Jersey, twice, visiting my friends Sabrina and Lynda! "Beach Day" topics include a bit of my personal history, "pool people" vs. "beach people," my grandparents' now abandoned buildings, my Mom's poodle Emily, mussels & my seafood allergies, The Mystery of Jetties, playgrounds, Jacob's report card & concert performance, airplane advertisements, Amy's Omelette House, helping my mom with computer stuff. "Between Doors" topics include finishing substitute teaching for the school year, the final performances of "The Dining Room," and finishing the first draft of the screenplay of "The Miracle Man" (NOTE: If you would like to read my draft, and provide feedback, e-mail me at brianjude27@gmail.com!), upcoming jobs counting people and possibly demonstrating 3D TV's. Words of Wisdom: Be grateful for the best parts of your day, every day, and resolve to make each day the best day it can be!

BSJ032: The Real Neal - with guest host Neal from Ireland

Sorry that there's not been many updates from me lately, but, well, if you've been listening to my show lately, you'll know why! If not, my friend and guest host Neal from Ireland will explain it all to you! (Thank you, Neal, for covering me!) Neal talks about his "real" speaking voice, his "uniquely nonsensical improvised talk show" Into Your Head, being a cranky old man before his time, stopping uninvited sales calls at the door, gypsies, catering to the illiterate, the inexplicable overuse of the word "is," a scary neighborhood dog, Barack Obama, "The Secret" and positive thinking, cats, crap vs. carp. Neal's help in this endeavor is in return for my covering a recent episode of his show.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
My wife and I will be directing and performing in A.R. Gurney's "The Dinning Room" at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, 67 Church Street, Montclair, New Jersey, on Saturday, June 12 at 8pm, Sunday June 13 at 3pm, and Satruday June 19 at 8pm. BSJ030: Take 2 1/2

I had recorded an entire episode and part of a second episode last week. But alas, my iPod somehow became corrupted, and I had to talk about here what I talked about then. Sad, because I had some really great stuff! Talked about my involvement in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, held last week at Montclair State University, on a team led by Cindi Merklee, plus the screening of a short film I produced, "The Collector's Item," and Q&A with director Bill Clemis. Plus I answer a question from Wayne from Sparetime Radio, and TV's Jorge Garcia (from LOST) answers my question on his podcast, Geronimo Jack's Beard.
